Silkie: Wikipedia says the Silkie (sometimes spelled Silky) is a breed of chicken named for its atypically fluffy plumage, which is said to feel like silk and satin. The breed has several other unusual qualities, such as black skin and bones, blue earlobes, and five toes on each foot, whereas most chickens only have four.

Do you use a lot of eggs in your family? What are they used for?
We use a lot of eggs in our house because we are seven people living in our house.
We are eating the eggs.  My grandma does baking with it, she makes omelettes and my favourite sunny side up eggs.

Why does Mum say they’ll have to do the maths? What questions will they need to ask? What information could help them?
They have to find out the cost of having chickens.
How much do we spend on eggs?
How much is a chicken?
Where will we keep the chickens?
What will we feed them?
How many eggs do they lay a day?
How much is an egg?

What do you predict they will do next?
I think that next they will breed chickens.
